Reliable second-generation tuning chip for your Yamaha pedelec.
SpeedBox Tuning Chip 2.0 enables the deactivation of the e-bike speed limiter. After installing the chip, real data such as top speed, average speed, daily distance and range will be shown on the e-bike display.
How does the SpeedBox 2.0 work?
To activate the SpeedBox 2.0 chip, press the LIGHT button on the e-bike display.
After pressing the button, the display briefly shows 9.9 km/h (6.1 mph) and from there you can drive at unlimited speeds - 40 km/h, 50 km/h and more than 60 km/h. By pressing the LIGHT button again, the chip function is switched off and the speed limit of 25 km/h is switched on again. The e-bike then works exactly as it did before the chip was installed.
We also thought about electric bikes that don't have a classic control panel with a LIGHT button. In this case just use the arrow combination ↑ ↓ ↑ ↓ and the SpeedBox is activated. You can then deactivate the SpeedBox in the same way. If you want to control the SpeedBox and the lighting separately, use the same key combination. By pressing the arrow keys in this order you can switch the SpeedBox on and off at any time independently of controlling the lighting.
To connect the SpeedBox chip to the pedelec we use connectors that come with a key for the right connection, so installing the chip is really easy.
We have written detailed instructions that every customer can use to install the SpeedBox. Removing the tuning chip is as easy as installing it. If you have some connection problems, please don't hesitate to contact us.
If you want to install a SpeedBox on a brand new bike, you need to ride that bike at least 1km before you start the chip for the first time.
Detailed installation information can be found here.
