The badassBox 4 is the result of more than a year of development work. We've completely redesigned the case, slimmed it down, and replaced the O-ring of previous versions with our patented snap-lock design. Slimmer means that there are no longer too narrow installation situations. The sensor application is only a minimum of 3 mm - less is hardly possible. With the new snap lock, you can open and close the badassBox with just one hand in no time at all. At the customer's request, we have also provided an optional fastening device using cable ties on the snap lock.
We replaced the CR2 with a AAA battery. You can get replacements for the supplied battery cheaply and literally on every corner. You can carry out the replacement yourself on site in a very short time without the use of tools. We recommend replacing the battery at least once a year at the start of the season. Thanks to our specially developed and patented field enhancement technology FEET (Field Enhancement & Elimination Technology), you can go a long way with one battery. To protect against moisture and mechanical stress on the wheel, the electronics are glued into the housing with a special sealing compound and completely sealed.

installation
You can find the speed sensor on the chainstay of your bike (see picture). The badassBox 4 Pendix is mounted over the Pendix speed sensor next to the rear wheel. When the snap lock engages, the badassBox is securely attached to the sensor. Optionally, the badassBox can be additionally secured with a cable tie.
During the initial assembly, we recommend replacing the screw on the spoke magnet with the supplied rag screw for tool-free relocation. After placing the badassBox on the sensor, the spoke magnet must be moved to the edge of the housing in the direction of the snap lock. Complete!
After removing the badassBox, the spoke magnet must be put back into its original position.
functionality
The badassBox transmits a modified signal without contact, without an electrical connection to the motor, without interfering with the motor electronics or software, in order to exceed the speed limit. It is not necessary to laboriously open the motor. There is no risk of damage. The badassBox can be put on and taken off again in seconds, putting the e-bike back into its previous, legal state.
With all the advantages, an incorrect speed and values derived from it are displayed as a matter of principle. We recommend the use of GPS-related additional devices (mobile phone, bicycle computer, etc.) for more precise driving data recording.
